Ex-President Donald Trump has declared that Venezuela will be “handing over” approximately $2 billion worth of Venezuelan crude to the United States of America. This major agreement would reroute cargoes originally destined for China while potentially helping Venezuela evade deeper oil production cuts.

“This Crude will be sold at its current market value, and that proceeds will be overseen by me, as President of the United States of America, to ensure it is used to help the citizens of Venezuela and the United States!” Trump stated in an social media post.

Officials in Caracas and the state-owned firm PDVSA have not commented on the alleged agreement.
