The President Calls Relatives of Shot Guard Members to the White House

President Donald Trump announced on the weekend that he has asked the relatives of a Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the White House.

He added that he conversed with her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Information on the Devastating Incident

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a shooting on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

Memorials across West Virginia have taken place in their honor.

White House Invitation

The president said he’s proposed a White House visit for the families of both soldiers of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president addressed reporters. “And similarly with him, no matter the outcome.”

Public Response

Attendees assembled over the weekend at a local school in the state to honor Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s national effort to assist law enforcement in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the individual that educators hoped for. She conducted herself with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that encouraged those around her,” Hankins, the head of her former high school, informed the Associated Press. “She was caring, compassionate and always willing to help others.”

Funeral details for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Judicial Measures and Policy Changes

Authorities have charged a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with one count of homicide and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The event caused the Trump administration to halt refugee claims and temporarily stop granting visas to owners of travel documents.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, started his military career in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, according to the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s leader Morrisey mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Bondi stated on a news show that she also intended to visit his relatives.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a law enforcement officer with honor, according to the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she certainly had bravery,” Morrisey told the gathering at the vigil. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
