The men are exulting in a mass killing that relief organizations fear killed over thousands of people in the Sudanese metropolis of el-Fasher last month.
A Community Severed from the Outside
Having held the city under encirclement for almost two years, from August the paramilitary force advanced to reinforce its position and restrict the surviving inhabitants.
Orbital photography show that forces commenced to erect a massive berm - a built-up sand barrier - around the perimeter of al-Fashir, sealing off access routes and blocking aid.
During the encirclement worsened, 78 individuals were slain in an militia assault on a mosque on 19 September, while the international organization reported fifty-three further were killed in unmanned aircraft and artillery bombardments on a makeshift community in fall.
Explicit Footage Shows Defenseless People Gunned Down
At dawn on late October the militia conquered the remaining army strongholds and captured the primary base in the urban area, the headquarters of the Army Division, as the military withdrew.
One of the most horrific recordings to emerge and studied showed the consequences of a massacre at a campus structure on the western of the urban area, where scores dead bodies were observed scattered throughout the floor.
A senior individual wearing a traditional garment sat by himself amongst the corpses. He turned to gaze as a militiaman armed with a weapon walked along the staircase in the direction of him. lifting his firearm, the gunman fired a single shot at the victim, who collapsed to the ground motionless.
"For what reason is this one yet alive," another combatant cried. "Shoot this one."
Space-based imagery taken on October 26th indicated to substantiate that shootings were also carried out on the thoroughfares of el-Fasher, according to a analysis published by the Yale Humanitarian Research Lab.
An observer who spoke reported he had observed "multiple of our kin being killed - the victims were collected in a specific area and all eliminated."
RSF Commanders Seek to Implement Reputation Management
In the days that ensued from the killings, militia commander acknowledged that his troops had committed "atrocities" and said the incidents would be looked into.
Included among arrested was following a investigation recording his executions. Carefully choreographed and edited recording published on the militia's formal Telegram account reveal the individual being escorted into a cell at a prison on the outskirts of al-Fashir.
Simultaneously, the RSF and affiliated social media accounts began trying to reshape the account.
Updates depicting its combatants providing supplies to civilians were shared by several individuals, while the militia's public relations unit published several recordings allegedly to display the compassionate treatment of army prisoners of war.
In spite of the digital initiative being deployed by the paramilitary, their activities in the city have generated international condemnation.
