Oscar-Nominated Star Diane Ladd, Famed For Her Role in Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, Has Died at the Age of 89.

The Oscar-nominated performer the celebrated Diane Ladd has died 89 years old.

This actor, whose roles featured Chinatown, left this world in her residence in Ojai, California. Her passing was revealed through a message from her child, award-winning actress Laura Dern, her daughter.

Her daughter, who appeared with her mother in a number of films like Rambling Rose, called her “my incredible hero and my special gift as a mother”, stating that she was at her bedside during her final moments.

“She was an exceptional grandmother, mother, daughter, star, artist as well as empathetic spirit that seemed almost dreamlike,” she wrote. “We were fortunate to know her. She is now with the angels.”

Early Career and Breakthrough

Her initial acting years saw minor parts on television series including Perry Mason whereas that decade saw her starring with actor Jack Nicholson in Chinatown.
